The Pillinger Explorer

An intimate small group tour that takes you into the Tasmanian wilderness, to explore the fascinating history of the lost township of Pillinger. The tour also includes a stop at Bonnet Island, as well as all-inclusive food and beverage.

Although it's not a requirement to pre-book all of your activities, we certainly recommend it in order to avoid the disappointment of tours and activities being full.

The weather on the west coast of Tasmania tends to be a little cooler and wetter than other parts of the state. It's a good idea to bring a jacket and if you're not sure of the forecast, a beanie can be a welcome addition in the cooler months or for evening activities.

The departure point for Gordon River Cruises is a very short walk from Strahan Village. The walk to the start of the West Coast Wilderness Railway at Regatta Point is approximately 2km or 30 minutes and most guests choose to drive this. You will require transport to reach the starting points for other experiences.
